On Tuesday, June 16, join The Green Hands Initiative, The St. Augustine Film Society, The Golden Way and Beaches Go Green on the Front Porch of the St. Augustine Amphitheater for the St. Augustine EcoCinema: A Four-Part Environmental Film Series presentation of “Sinking Cities: Miami” & “Oldest City Underwater.” Sponsored by Friends of the St. Augustine Amphitheater and Maritime Creative.
“Sinking Cities: Miami” is one of four “Sinking Cities” episodes exploring how global cities are coming to grips with the real-time effects of rising seas and extreme weather. “The Oldest City Underwater” addresses rising water levels within St. Augustine.
Event Details:
6pm – Front Porch Opens
7pm – Films begin followed by Question & Answer Session with local experts.
Seating on the Front Porch is first come, first seated. All ages are welcome to this free event. Local organizations and food trucks will be onsite. Events on the Front Porch are made possibly by Canan Law Attorneys.
About The St. Augustine EcoCinema Series:
On April 7, June 16, August 4 and October 6, the community is invited to view four documentaries addressing the environmental topics of plastic pollution, rising sea levels, food waste and marine habitat destruction. The documentaries will be shown on the Front Porch at the St. Augustine Amphitheater beginning at 7pm, followed by a question and answer session with local experts. Local organizations will also be on hand to answer questions and share information on ways to positively address these four areas of environmental concern. All four film screenings are free and open to the public with free parking at the St. Augustine Amphitheater. Seating on the Front Porch is on a first come, first seated basis.
